That was very helpful! I read the whole thing! This year will be my first time getting a table at an artists alley and I'm terrified. I feel a little more confident now after reading this. Thanks!

Thank you so very much for writing this! I'm considering doing my first artist alley this coming spring, and this really opened my eyes to a few things I hadn't honestly thought of.
This will definitely be bookmarked and referred back to, so thank you!

Eric: that depends entirely on the con you want to sell at. :) I've seen young artists before, although they tend to be accompanied by a parent most of the time. I suggest you email the artist alley organizer of the convention you'd like to sign up for and ask them what their policy is: do you need to be 16 or 18, can you sell if a parent signs you up, does an older person need to be with you, etc. :)

Hi I was just wondering how old you have to be to sell at an artist alley. I'm only 13 (Sample:http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz101/Nippondaisuki44/PosterUmbrellaloliyabeta.png?t=1258260971) and would really love to sign up. You said here: "A diet of Pocky and Ramune works great when you’re sixteen and on a permanent sugar high..." so I assume you're implying you can be 16 to sell? Under 18. Does that mean I can sell my art if a parent signs me up? Thanks :)

Wow this is actually really helpful, thank you!

My friends and I are doing an artist alley for the first time, so this is good to know. Also for research purposes, the print sites are helpful.

I'm really glad I read this. It's so informative and has enough pieces of humor to keep one entertained while reading without getting bored or skipping sections. Anyways, I've recently been thinking about opening up a table at a local con but I wasn't sure how I should go about preparing (since I've never even been to a con before). Anyways, thanks for making the guide. Very Helpful.

This is a really good guide. My friends and I are selling for the first time in October and are sharing a booth at AA. So I am researching the info on AA and this is the best I have seen. Thanks!

Another way is to see if any of your friends in college have printers at the school who do prints for the art majors. They will usually catour to all students and are cheaper to Staples or other major printing stores.
