I've been using an Indian sheet printed with a pattern of stylized elephants on it for years, on the sneaking suspicion that a signature table cover is good. Glad to know my thought is right! :D

Excellent advice! *takes notes* Re. table covers: A really distinctive table cover that's easily seen at a distance can be helpful once people know who you are. I've been table minion for Trina Robbins and Steve Leialoha off and on for a few years, and she has this Day-Glo vintage 70s psychedelic cloth that she uses as a table covering. t's so bright that some people are drawn to it just out of curiosity, but mostly it's useful for people specifically looking for Trina and Steve (those booth maps only help so much!). People make a beeline for it and they instantly know whose table it is even if I'm the only one there at the moment. (I don't want to use the "branding" word, but ...)

I wouldn't advocate Day-Glo for everyone, but depending on what you're selling, purple sequins! silver lame! orange skulls! black and white stripes! something! Check out a quilting store for some neat ideas (my local store even has traditional Japanese prints).
